Unbreakable

After a week of limiting myself of TV, I spent my Saturday binge watching the third season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix. If you haven’t seen this show you need to go watch it right now (well, after reading this).

When I first started watching the show I thought it was a little weird and wasn’t sure if I could really get into it. Kimmy was just so naive about everything which is definitely understandable since she was locked away in a bunker for the last 15 years, but it just didn’t click for me right away.

But watching this third season has really made me appreciate her naive personality. She is so open to learning and trying new things and thinks the best in people when she meets them. She’s overly upbeat, happy and so confident in who she is. I love this about her and think that we could all follow her example.

Unbreakable
They alive, damn it
It’s a miracle
Unbreakable
They alive, damn it
But females are strong as hell

For those of you not familiar with the show, that’s the theme song. It doesn’t seem like much, but it’s catchy, fun to sing and ultimately it’s empowering. Females are strong as hell and we need to remind ourselves of that fact and be unbreakable.

Even though Kimmy went through the awful experience of being kidnapped into a cult, she doesn’t let that stop her from moving on with her life. She didn’t let her past break her or keep her from enjoying her present.  Kimmy isn’t sitting around having a pity party, but instead she’s ready to see what the world has to offer and doesn’t let anything stand in her way. Kimmy is a badass and is definitely strong as hell.

When I grow up, I want to be like Kimmy Schmidt. I want to live life without caring what people think of me. I want to try new things  I want to be unbreakable. Plus,  Kimmy has some pretty sweet facial expressions.

I think Kimmy is one badass, be*you*tiful chick. What do you think?
