Birthdays

The other day was my birthday. I’ve always loved birthdays and this year was no different. I decided not to make any big plans this year and it still turned out to be a fantastic day.

There was a time when birthdays meant making plans to go out to dinner with all of my friends, pregame and go out or have a house party. But this year was different. I didn’t feel like making any plans and luckily I didn’t have to. My day was planned out by other people that wanted to spend time with me.

I started my day off right by going on a run with one of my good friends. Although I’m not always motivated, I love running and I love it even more when I have a friend to run with. This was a great start to my day because I feel like I started off my new age with a healthy choice and of course great conversation.

Before my run I was already receiving thoughtful, sweet messages from my friends and family. I felt so loved. I love hearing from people that I don’t usually talk to or haven’t heard from in a while. It’s a nice reminder that people care and think about me.

I continued my birthday with another friend that bought me a chai latte (my favorite) and took a long walk with me. It was a gorgeous day outside! I love warm fall days. In my opinion, fall is the best time of year.  I’m so glad that my birthday was a beautiful, sunny day.

My evening was filled with a trip to the Oriental Super Market with another good friend followed by a relaxing evening with the boyfriend. I think my birthday was great. It may have been pretty lame, but I got to spend my day with quality people that filled up my cup and made me feel special. Isn’t that what birthdays are for? I think birthdays are the one day of the year that you can be a little selfish and expect people to focus on you. My birthday definitely reminded me of all of the people and things that I have to be thankful for.  I feel truly blessed to have so many people in my life that wanted to make sure I had a great birthday.
